The College of Eastern Europe is organising the project “Poland and Its Neighbours: History, Present, and Future.” The aim of the project is to practise public diplomacy in a country that has undergone a system transformation from communism to democracy and a market economy and has emerged as a regional leader, especially now at the time of the war in Ukraine.
The project is aimed at participants from Serbia and the following countries in the region: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Participants are expected to be professionals, aged 25-45, from the following areas: opinion leaders, journalists, publicists, media professionals, experts, local government officials, decision makers, public administrators, and academics, teachers, lecturers.
The first stage of the programme is scheduled to take place on 22-28 September. Selected participants will visit Krakow, Cieszyn, Opole, and Wroclaw. In these cities, various meetings and workshops with local leaders and activists will be organised.
In the second stage of the programme, participants will be asked to produce and publish content from their stay in Poland upon their return home (scope and exact form to be determined on a case-by-case basis).
The third stage of the programme is the Summary Seminar, which will be held in Belgrade at the end of October or early November.
The organisers cover the cost of the flight to Poland (Krakow or Warsaw) from Belgrade, Tirana, Skopje, Sarajevo, and Podgorica accordingly, and the return trip from Poland to the same airports, as well as accommodation and catering in Poland during the entire programme.
The working language of the study visit is English, although the content to be prepared by the participants upon their return to their country may be in the language(s) of the participant’s respective country of origin.
